These are my lovely daughters modeling their Easter baskets. Yes, I was so lame that they got empty plastic Easter egg bags as their baskets this year. The day was spent resting, making salad, L preparing and giving a WONDERFUL talk in Church, the Easter egg hunt, and a family get-together with lots of yummy food. Of course, our Easter started long before Sunday. We actually started preparing a month in advance with practices and performances in the Easter Pageant. (K's quoted in the article, and we're all in the video!) We're so glad to have this amazing tradition as a family!
In other news, as you recall, L had Melanoma removed back in January. Since then, she's had a few additional issues for us to learn about. The latest one is Shingles. You know when the health care professionals suggest a narcotic for the pain, it's not going to be a good thing. Fortunately, it was caught early enough for her to take medication that's supposed to make it not last quite so long. She was diagnosed on Saturday and each day it's gotten worse. Tonight she noticed the painful/itchy rash is starting to spread and go around her side. So far she's only taking Tylenol when absolutely necessary. She's a tough girl! Everyone we've talked to that has had it said it's some of the worst pain they've ever had. Hopefully the medication will help and she'll be spared from that. If you can remember her in your prayers, that would be really nice. The next few weeks of school will be pretty hard, even without Shingles to deal with! If you've had them and have any good pain/itch remedy, feel free to share! Thanks in advance!
