The Right Place At The Right Time

Did you know that this year is the 40th Anniversary of "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid"? If you haven't seen this movie, do it tonight! Such a classic!
Well, while in Utah, we ran across a special event celebrating the anniversary put on by Robert Redford (The Sundance Kid) at his Sundance Ski Resort (also 40 years old). The weather was a bit chilly since it had snowed the day before, but the atmosphere was so beautiful...the mountains, trees, full moon. This event was held in the Sundance Screening room with music before from a small folk band. Then it was time to enter the actual theatre. We got our complimentary popcorn and found our seats. As I sat there, I imagined all of the famous people who had been there before me. When it was time for the movie to begin, the general manager explained what this night was all about. A few weeks before, he and "Bob" had been talking when it was realized that this was the anniversary, so Mr. Redford wanted to do something extra special. It was decided that he would go on TV and invite whoever wanted to, to come watch the movie there at Sundance free of charge. The GM explained that Mr. Redford had not seen the movie in over 30 years and probably wouldn't watch it again because of the tender feelings it brought back and the loss of Paul Newman last year. After a brief intro, the GM came back to explain that they had the choice to show the movie from DVD which would be a better quality, or from film...the decision was made to show it from Mr. Redford's own copy on 35mm film. SO COOL!!! Once in a lifetime experience. I love this movie and will have great memories of the anniversary viewing each time I watch it!
