Good, Bad, and Ugly

Two weeks ago, K and I started on another adventure. Getting to spend a week with just the two of us was good! We had such a good summer and really grew closer to each other, so it was really hard for me to let her go when she's over 600 miles away again...which is bad. The fact that she will be continuing her education at BYU is good! She's a great student and is in a great apartment with great roommates and great friends right next door and across the street. Because there was a little bit of conflict as to which apartment she would actually be living in, we stayed in Spanish Fork at my parents home for the week. The home has been empty for quite some time, so when I filled the tub with water for a bath, it was UGLY! (See picture)

After filling and draining the tub numerous times (basically the whole water heater), it was running clear, and we were good again.
Part way through the trip, we got word that my Mom, who has Alzheimer's, was being kicked out of the assisted living center she was in due to bad behavior. This was bad and ugly. Not going any further into that except to say that K has seen more of nursing homes now than she hopefully will ever have to see again! and that Mom is in a place temporarily hopefully getting some help.

The rest of the family joined us EARLY Saturday morning to go cheer on the Cougars at the opening football game! Good! As you may know, we do still have season tickets to BYU football, even though we live in Arizona. The normal trek usually begins after school/work on Friday, we drive all night, go to the game on Saturday, then turn around Sunday and drive home. This is usually good, bad, and ugly! Of course the Cougars won the football game, then it was off to watch women's volleyball, and have pizza & rootbeer at Brick Oven. (Heaps for those of you old enough to remember.) GOOOOOD!!!!!

K's housing problems finally worked out late Friday night, so we were able to move her to her new place on Monday. But before we could begin the move, we had to wait for the rain and HAIL to stop...which took a few hours. Again, good, bad, and ugly.
We were sad to leave her, but know she'll be in good hands. Besides, it's football season, so we'll be back soon!

What a fun-filled week ... except for the bad and the uglies (sorry about those).
