Friday and Saturday, B and L had the
privilege of participating in the Central Region Music Festival. They tried out last month, and a few days after learning they had made it in, they got their music to learn. This only gave them about 2 weeks to learn new songs. (3 for L and 6 for B) Some of the top musicians from Mesa, Gilbert, Phoenix, and Scottsdale went to Mt. View High School on Friday and spent all day, 8:30-5:30, practicing and perfecting these new songs, then it was back on Saturday to do the same thing all morning! L played the harp as part of the band directed by
ASU's Associate Director of Bands and B sang in the choir that was directed by
MCC's Director of Choral Studies. The final product of all of the work was a concert by their 2 groups and also an orchestra. So many talented students and beautiful music. If you ever have the chance to go, even if you don't know anyone participating, it's well worth your time. They both had a great experience and now B will go on to try out for State. This was B's 3rd year and hopefully L will have more years to come.
My camera really stinks at taking pictures from far away, so I don't have anything of B performing that's not blurry or his heads not behind someone else...sorry!

In the meantime up in Utah, K is working getting ready for
this! This video is from last year, but this is her 3rd year doing Luau. I'm sure she's somewhere in the video, since she did most of the dances they show. This year she will be doing 3 of the 5 dances, which will be Hawaiian, Tahitian, and New Zealand-Maori. They've been practicing for about 2 months now and that's where she'll be found every Saturday around 6:00am for 6-8 hours. She LOVES doing this type of dance and swears she's a Polynesian stuck in a white body. I'm so excited that I'll be able to go see her again this year! She's amazing! And this is another one of those things that is
SOOOO worth the time and money to go see! Can't wait!!!
ALOOOOOOHA!!!
These are some from last year.
We're sure proud of the 3 of you and all you do! We love you!!!
